AB 1110 has taken affect this year, adding to the large wave of new rental housing regulations. AB 1110 requires landlords to provide 90 days’ notice when they increase the rent on month-to-month tenants by more than 10%. The notice period for rent increases of 10% or less remained unchanged and still only requires 30 days’ notice. Rent increases that took effect during the previous 12 months are included for purposes of calculating rent increase percentages.
